TRUE INHERITANCE THERAPY
HOW THERAPY WORKS:
Below is important information about therapy that may help you determine whether I am a good fit for you. Please read through all the information.
Consultation
I offer one free 50-minute consultation. During this time, you will be given space to discuss why you are seeking therapy and what your treatment goals are. You can also ask questions about the therapeutic process and my experience and approach as a therapist. The consultation is to aid us in determining whether we are a good fit for each other based on your needs and intentions for therapy and my skillset and approach. If we are a good fit, we will schedule our first session after the consultation. I will send paperwork prior to the intake appointment. Please read through the documents and fill out to the best of your ability. Paperwork must be filled out prior to meeting.
Therapy
Our work together will start with an intake. This is a great opportunity for me to get to know you and for you to get a sense of how I may be helpful for you. You are encouraged to ask any questions and voice any concerns around the therapeutic process. I will do my best to help you feel understood and heard.
After this first appointment, we will schedule a follow up session. As we begin working together in therapy, we will meet for weekly 50-minute sessions. As you progress and accomplish your goals, we will talk about decreasing the frequency of sessions.
Investment
Intake/Initial Evaluation- $215
Follow-up therapy sessions- $190
While I am not in network with any insurance plans, I provide documentation (also called a superbill) for out-of-network benefits on a monthly basis. If you plan on using out of network benefits, it is important to contact your insurance company in advance to learn more about the specifics of your plan and how to submit for reimbursement. HSA and FSA plans can also be used to pay for sessions.
Cancellation Policy
Therapy involves a shared commitment to a weekly session time. To cancel your appointment and avoid incurring a fee, 48 hours notice is required. If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, or miss your appointment entirely, you are financially responsible for the full cost of the session. The credit or debit card you place on file as part of the intake process will be charged at the time of the missed session.
Location
I offer telehealth sessions for people in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia at the time of the session. I also offer outdoor therapy sessions in Alexandria, Virginia.
Online / Video Therapy
Our therapy sessions are conducted through a secure web-based video platform. This platform keeps our conversations private. For online sessions, all you need is a computer or device with a camera and an internet connection. It is also important to find a place to meet for our sessions where you feel comfortable and able to speak openly.
Documentation Requests
As part of our work, you may ask me to complete forms or letters on your behalf. Should you make such a request, a release form will be required with specific information regarding what and with whom you would like information to be shared.
General forms or letters requiring less than 15 minutes for completion are provided free of charge. More complex requests are billed in 15-minute increments at an hourly rate of $200.
