Traditional talk therapy takes a mind-first approach, but sometimes words aren't enough, and trying to change your thinking alone isn't effective. The path to healing isn't always so straightforward or simple, especially when trauma is involved. You are more than your mind, and adverse life experiences can impact all parts and aspects of you. I utilize mind-body based modalities, such as EMDR and somatic therapy, that bridge and balance thinking and feeling, mind and body, to invite your whole self into the healing process. These are effective, evidence-based approaches that can rewire your brain and reset your nervous system to shift you from fear to safety, from post-traumatic stress to post-traumatic growth, from surviving to thriving.
